HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) Strand

Hello, this is Cathreena Mae V. Perez of 12-MACEDONIA from strand Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) of Philippine Christian University of Cavite. 

Students who want to pursue a liberal arts degree in college can be adequately prepared by the HUMSS strand in senior high school. HUMSS courses span a range of topics and present a diversity of perspectives on the world and its inhabitants.

HUMSS will also polish your reading and writing abilities to a professional standard while concentrating on increasing your oral communication, media, and information skills. The HUMSS strand will require a lot of research and presentation because it is designed for students who want to learn more about careers in the social sciences. As a result, it is an excellent way for students to get ready for careers as journalists, lawyers, teachers, politicians, writers, and psychologists.

Students in senior high school who are enrolled in the HUMSS strand get the essential training in the humanities and social sciences, including psychology, sociology, and other fields. By honing abilities like communication, open-mindedness, and a solid comprehension of the social and cultural nuances of their surroundings, our students gain from the HUMSS strand. They can then investigate and evaluate how they influence and form societal beliefs and ideologies in the media, art, politics, and other areas

The senior high school HUMSS strand equips students with additional benefits, including:

• Instilling values of empathy and understanding, which are essential traits for establishing the rapport required to pursue a successful career in professions available to HUMSS strand graduates.

• Promotes a sense of confidence in voicing out one’s opinions and ideas in an articulate, logical, and concise manner through the various projects and tasks in the different HUMSS courses.

• Opens up a world of job opportunities, as HUMSS strand graduates can find many applications and areas for potential career development in various industries, including scientific, artistic, legislative, and corporate careers.

Now that I am studying with this strand, I can prove and give a statement about the HUMSS strand in a way which I couldn't even do back then, when I was still in junior high school. Contrary to what some people believe when they hear the terms "humanities" and "social sciences," HUMSS is more about understanding, knowing, and developing yourself as a person than it is about writing essays and conducting research.
